What I Have Done In The Garden Today

I have tied up my asparagus so not to blow in the wind to much and they are going brown slowly so I will be cutting them back soon.
All the cosmos and no squash.
My experiement potatoes for Christmas I have put some in the ground and some in a growbag in the greenhouse. Fingers crossed.
My beetroot is so big now. I think it will soon be chutney.

Magnificent Kale

My squash havent worked out this year so I will be boasting about my kale. They are the most beautiful, tallest, healthiest, Chelsea perfect Kale you will ever see.

Fence And Pretty Flowers

Elderberries and damsons I found while out foraging. Making Elderberry vinegar and damson and apple jam.
Out of all the gardens I have seen this year my cosmos is the tallest and in my opinion the best. It needs some dead heading though.

My glowing brassica netting.

Built the another section of my fence. This is nearly killing me but it looks so good!

Cottagers Kale

If you saw the gardeners world which featured Kinghtshayes court, you would of seen the head gardener talking about this kale which is not on the seed lists any more, and can't get it anywhere else apart from here. Well guess who has it ME! oh yes I used my charm and asked one of the gardeners if I could have a cutting. Now there is a cottagers kale in Somerset.

The Garden House

When I was down in Devon I Visited the Garden House. This place is stunning completely relaxing it had a feeling like a zen garden because every section is separate but it all flows together harmoniously. Defiantly worth the visit.

Another Week In August

I have kept my two courgette plants and got rid of 3 of my summer squash plants and only kept one. Next year I will only grow one courgette and no summer squash as my mother hasn't cooked with them, but it has been useful for when you go round to someone's house you always have something to bring round, I have had 10 squash a week with these plants. My winter squash is the worst I have ever had which is sad because I took all that time on making those tepees for them to climb up, but because of this drought this summer they obviously haven't done as well as usual. On the other hand the kale is outstanding!
My new dahlias I bought in Devon, I think the contrast between the dark leaves and bight pink flowers.
Hollyhocks
I have tied up my asparagus because the wind is picking up and I don't want anything to happen to them.
My assistant gardener helping out with the weeds.
Yay a bumble bee
This is a record on how far my melons have come along.

Honesty Pig

When coming back home from a week away, I found a big glut of vegetables. Well squash to be specific, 8 courgettes nearly marrows and 14 patty pan squash. And I put my little honesty piggy bank out and I got £1.90! Pretty good, pays for a packet of seeds.
